Solid walls hold a television better than any stud wall will, as long as the fixings match the material. Most of Florida is block under the stucco, so this is not a special-case job here — we do it most weeks.
Into the brick itself, unless it is old and soft. Mortar joints drill easier and repair easier, and on a century-old chimney they are often the right call. On modern block the reverse is true. That gets decided at the wall, with the drill in hand.
Sleeve anchors or concrete screws rated for the load, set to depth, in a hole blown clean of dust. The plastic plugs in the bracket box are for drywall — under a heavy panel they creep straight back out of masonry.
Hammer drilling masonry makes a mess. We work with a vacuum at the bit and sheets down. You should not be hoovering brick dust out of a rug after we leave.
Nothing gets fished through brick or block. Either a painted raceway on the surface, or we route around to an adjacent stud wall if the layout allows it. Anyone promising invisible cables inside masonry is planning to chase a channel into it and make good — different trade, different price.

Called at nine, screen was on the wall by two. He found the studs off-centre from where I assumed they were and moved the mount over four inches rather than bolting into drywall. Cable went inside the wall, no trunking.

Depends on the wall. Older soft brick, we go into the mortar. Modern block and hard brick, into the unit itself. We look before deciding.
Not inside the wall. A painted raceway is the practical answer, and on textured stucco it disappears better than people expect.
Block, for our purposes. Stucco is a thin coat, and the anchor has to reach past it into the block behind — which is exactly where cheap installs go wrong.
